The govt doesn't want to lose that ability to steal peoples assets for dime bags and petty offenses. It is really disgusting to have people in jail for 25 years to life for petty weed possession charges in states like Texas and Michigan and the govt able to seize houses and cars and bank accounts for small time possession. This is wasteful, shameful, and blatantly unconstitutional.
