I fairly confident everyone grasped what you were saying right up to the last sentence. I agree. I've drawn a similar conclusion and consider it very bullish yet highly unusual. What I'm quite certain is confusing posters is the last sentence in your post-
"80 to 90% fail....."

See, the order in which you wrote your random thoughts leads people to think that you are suggesting that companies "...with no approved drugs, no large cash position, and coming to P3 top line..." with a very low short interest position have a 80-90-% failure rate. It's strictly in the way you wrote it...

MY guess is- you're highlighting the fact that other companies in the same position as PTN: "...with no approved drugs, no large cash position, and coming to P3 top line..." have an 80-90% fail rate (usually with a very large short interest position) and yet here is PTN in the same boat yet there is no short position.
