Looks like Hyperdynamics will be the operator for the Fatala well.

Why operate the well ourselves?

• Credibility: The Guinea government was not willing to give an extension to a “promoter” who would only be turning the license over to another company. We had to demonstrate the capability to drill the well ourselves

• Options for funding: The ability to operate it ourselves increases by an order of magnitude the number of potential partners and also gives us the option of securing funding and drilling it at 100% interest if we choose

• Time: To drill as early as possible gives us a chance to follow up a success with additional wells within the one year extension period securing more developments. Therefore we need to begin preparations without delay rather than wait for a farm-in partner and only then begin the drilling preparations
