Jazz,
I know that KBLB is attempting to open up shop in another country. My guess is India, but who knows.

I do not think Kim would attempt another country unless he was sure this time that it would be fast-tracked or at least occur at a much much quicker speed. He knows we do not have three more years to wait, nor do we have half that time. And, yes, it WAS a mistake on his part to put all his eggs in one basket.

Nonetheless, I believe Vietnam is still going to happen, even if it is not until early next year.

I agree with you Jazz. But instead of discussing how slow or stupid Kim is in our opinion I think we should talk the subject through and see if our assumptions are correct.

VN is not the only place to make silk

This is a good starting point. We can answer this and narrow that list down.

According to The International Sericultural Commission

The major silk producing countries in the world are; China, India, Uzbekistan, Brazil, Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, DPR Korea, Iran, etc.
Few other countries are also engaged in the production of cocoons and raw silk in negligible quantities; Kenya, Botswana, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, Japan, Nepal, Bulgaria, Turkey, Uganda, Malaysia, Romania, Bolivia,

We can narrow the list to remove the smaller producers

China, India, Uzbekistan, Brazil, Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, DPR Korea, Iran,

We can remove the political issues of
China,Brazil,DPR Korea,Iran,

This leaves us with...
India, Uzbekistan, Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Vietnam,

We can narrow to amount produced

India 28000 tons, Uzbekistan 940 tons, Japan 54 tons, Republic of Korea 3 tons, Thailand 650 tons, Vietnam 550 tons.

So we narrowed it to 4 countries
India, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam,

Now we know the problem with India is bureaucracy.

And we are in Viet Nam.

so that leaves Uzbekistan, and Thailand.

Just my personal opinion but Uzbekistan is too close to Russia and turmoil

That leaves Thailand.

So IMO the other country is Thailand that Kim is trying to deal with.

Are the laws about GMOs in Thailand strict?

I believe they are but I have not looked.
I seem to remember Thailand being one of the strictest non GMO countries.

If I am right then the ONLY good choice was Vietnam

What do you think?
