The decision to sell StrongARM was an absolute disaster and IMO, set Intel back by 10 years!

Dude your hindsight is severely broken.


I suspected that I got something wrong when I typed it. It should have read XScale (which came out of Intel's purchase of StrongARM from DEC).

XScale apps processors had design wins in 2005-06 with Blackberry, Dell, Palm, etc. when Intel decided to focus on x86 and sold the division to Marvell. And we all know how it unfolded. I still maintain that the decision to sell XScale to Marvell was an absolute disaster and Intel has lost a whole decade due to that fateful decision.
