Makes sense. The company is splitting into two companies so there is no reason to keep high number of O/S. But, if you are in a very essential sector to the economy like banking and investing which is the biggest sector in any stock market, you need high number of O/S. GE is the biggest company by O/S and they do big part of their business though GE financial. Just like BAC and JPM.
