At its annual industry launch event Apple has today showcased the iPayZero, its latest vision for not paying taxes on its profits.

September 7, 2016

‘Everyone’s very excited,’ said one industry insider. ‘Apple are the market leaders in creative accounting, so we can’t wait to see the new features on their latest product. Will it include a bigger network of subsidiaries to funnel money through? Will it have a new user interface to make it easier for governments to provide special treatment? Either way, you can’t afford to miss this.’

Those who have had a sneek-peak of the multinational’s new tax scheme have praised the sleek design which conceals a state-of-the-art interpretation of corporation tax law. Apple has hinted to fans that its updated tax affairs draw heavily on ‘minimalist influences’, while promising that planned upgrades in response to ongoing litigation will include the iPayZero S and an outsize version of the scheme, iPayZero Minus.

But not everyone is excited by the latest unveiling. ‘Like all Apple products, this one will be basically the same as the last with a few extra perks and slightly better packaging,’ said one critic. ‘Every government wants to be seen with the latest Apple tax scheme, but at the end of the day you shell out a load of money for a shiny new deal and you’re no better off than you were before.’
