#3514 RE: Fred Kadiddlehopper #3511

Thanks Fritz, I don't know this will change their approach to hearing, it could. In the CAR-T area, my Dr. at City of Hope is one of the pioneers in the effort. It's something he wants to avoid with me as at my age the risk is greater, but I met a patient who had relapsed after stem cells in 2008 who got his own stem cells the same day I got my transplant. Three days later he got his modified T-cells. It had been about 3 months after transplant that I met him, he was doing great and actually only coming in about twice a month. I had only recently gone to once a week from a twice a week routine. It's now been about 16 months since my transplant, I've not seen him again, but I think he's doing fine.

I believe T-cells will clearly be the key to treatment of blood borne cancers, but I cannot say they'll be the answer to solid cancer. Time will tell. As for hearing, I believe GNVC's approach is unique, at least for now, and in time I believe that it will be successful, but it may be a second or third generation of the drug that proves to really be successful.
