That's one way to look at it.

My broker tells me, that the ex-dividend date was Aug 2. And the ex-dividend date is what counts. They had their experts look at it. They still have to get back to me officially after I filed a complaint.

I looked it up. There are a number of FINRA rules that ultimately determine the ex-dividend date. I think the company screwed up.
