I see little comparison between Tesla and Elio other than the hope that some day the share price will skyrocket. Business model wise; I can't afford a Tesla. I can afford an Elio. I drive 100 miles a day alone and don't need more than one seat. Elio gives me two. I don't want to depreciate a $70,000 car with the 50,000 miles I put on it each year. I don't care if I depreciate a $7,000 car (autocycle). Elio is a totally different demographic and a much broader one. I don't know what the margins are of an Elio versus a Tesla, but I think the much broader appeal will win over Tesla's limited market. Yes, if it ever gets off the ground.
