But we won't know the real story about what they can wring out of 14nm GFs process until they officially announce. Based on the Radeon products, I wouldn't be suprised if they give up a bit of frequency vs. older designs. But the same problem they always had remains: how many can they produce? They aren't exactly inspiring confidence with their 14nm radeon launch and the lack of availability. Its what killed them at Dell when they had an actual competitive product. And Kaby Lake is going to be out earlier and probably with far better availability. I am surprised that some of the press is already claiming the cpu wars are back but I suppose they want that to be the story. This really just proves its better than dullbozer and MAYBE in a best case scenario competitive with a downclocked 8 core 5th gen architecture with handpicked benchmarks. Benchmarketing at its finest. Many unaswered questions remain.
