To become a market maker: 1. pass the Series 55 exam to become an equity trader 2. pass the Series 7 or similar corporate securities exam 3. pass the Series 63 multistate exam 4. buy or get hired by an NASD Broker Dealer That's about it! Sometimes the BD requires that you have a deposit in escrow to cover any mistakes you might make.... like taking on a large long position in FHAL at too high of a price!
