The author, I think, is confusing complete response with overall response. Complete responses using anti pd-1 therapy alone are typically less than 10% whereas overall responses are on the order of 20-30% for metastatic melanoma. Combination yervoy and opdivo show improvements on overall response rates, but complete responses are improving only modestly. A combination of EP il-12, anti-ctla-4 and anti pd-1 would be interesting.
