Now that is a line of thinking that I dig very much. There are many patents on MJ going way back. There was never a shred of honesty in any of what the Government has done with this information.

What was the first chemical compound isolated from MJ?

It was not THC.

Reefer Madness was produced in 1936, Mj was made illegal in 1937, supposedly for its recreational effects. Right after making it illegal, they had this in depth discussion about MJ in December of 1938, at the Internal Revenue Building of all places:

Just over 3 years later, in 1942, the patent for the isolation of Cannabidiol is produced:

That's right, non-psychoactive CBD is the first isolated cannabinoid. Pretty ironic considering they were allegedly so concerned over MJ's psychoactive effects at the time. THC was supposedly not isolated until 22 years later, in 1964.
