Most research on DRUGS at the university level is funded by Pharmaceutical companies -they also get Tax benefits and patent and copyright benefits in the process. They get exclusive rights to product brand names and licensing for many years -before a product can be produced genericaly . It sounds like the drug industry is making a move to now get into MJ -now that it is reaching a certain $$$$ level that they are geared into -they can also then control product coming into the US ,as they do with drugs
