There was a purported boycott against WFM a few years ago when CEO John Mackey spoke out against government-sponsored healthcare, but the effect was not even discernible in the sales numbers.

I suspect it will be the same this time.

The organic retailers have a problem. Not just Whole Foods. There is more competition for the organic consumer dollar.

Looking at smaller vendors that sell to the farmers that are growing the organic produce being sold to WFM etc.

GroGenesis (GROG) is one. Small co., but I have heard their organic input product, in testing, is pretty remarkable for crops and turf.

It is tough to find pure plays--but they are out there.

What is curious about WFM is that they had a reputation for principles and values. But, I guess when the bottom line is under pressure, the return for doing the right thing is not high enough.

WFM continues as a has been down hill tanker. Competition is taking WFM to the wood shed. WFM was a good company
