Reason why TMM (TGD) is up today on Canada is simply because CDN markets were closed yesterday. It is simply adjusting to what the price of Timmins gold should be. No conspiracy theory here.
If CDN markets would have been open yesterday, TMM would have been up big yesterday (i bet strong bid support) and then down today (with i am willing to bet bla bid support) just like the us is today.
Look for the canads bid support to also fall off today if the US side bid support stays the way it is (not great).
