My orthodontist when I was a high-school kid had an office on Sand Hill. Yeah, that Sand Hill Road. It wasn't quite as VC-filled back then. AMDA did a better deal than last time, but they sure got in bed with the same crew of shady characters and underpriced their company terribly.
It seems like they are working with the science, technology, at extremely high levels. Even making great deals to pay off in the future.
But, like you say, they are disconnected from their shareholder base without a stake in the stock performance. That needs to change. They should really go into the market and make some solid buys to demonstrate their commitment.
