It's funny how the mere mention of a buyout sends people up in arms and defensive. Especially when Pfizer is brought up. I have watched other companies mentioned as potential suitors and not a blink of an eye. But when buyout gets mentioned and pfizer gets mentioned in the same post and people get defensive to the 3rd degree.
To me it makes a lot of sense and is very logical given the technology and commonly used outside resources by both companies. Not to mention the fact that once ALO-02 gets approved (still pending despite being beyond their PDUFA date; I think deliberately done by pfizer) Elite can immediately take their study data and use it for their same generic version of it.
Too much to lose AND gain for Pfizer to NOT be the potential buyout candidate.
Phase one- proof of concept (check) Phase two- FDA approval for Sequestox (very soon but I still say check) Phase three- negotiations based upon the multitude of potential for immediate acquisition from Pfizer of Elite and instant profitability by Pfizer.
That whole "confidential" CT and pediatric study is phase 2b just as a one more minor detail to work out and if positive we will have a deal by December 2016.
Pfizer in MY opinion will BUYOUT Elite before the end of the year hence the "until December" confidential treatment.
