Yes For sure this a large cost of mining cost when it comes to fuel consumption of a mine.Some of that cost can be offset my other factors location of the plant to the ore or gold bearing materiel. that and the type of mine location of mine in relation to the outside world. operational cost can sometimes to be fund in 10 Q sec filing but that is even limited. If i was reaching gold stock companies for a stuck buying opportunity I would look for these 3 things
1. Stage of Development and location.
2 Directional Price of Gold
3. Stock charts

I think it would be much easier to buy a gold stock based on charting and trade plane than researching fuel cost of the company. Maybe if there was one close to me that traded publicly i could observer it and figure out if shorting it might work.
