#49788 RE: trevorbc #49785

The article states they have two manufacturing lines, each about the size of a classroom. That's small for a production site from my experience. Yes, the overall facility might be 60k sq ft, but let's do some deductive reasoning. A quick search on their website shows they're ISO certified, which means they probably have an area devoted to quality control. A quick LinkedIn search shows they have employees in HR, Business Development, IT, etc. I'm sure they all have offices/cubicles/etc. They've clearly been innovating so I imagine they have an R&D lab. They employee about 100 people in different capacities...so not everything has to be used for manufacturing... One thing I think a lot of people on this board take for granted is the fact that actually shipping large volumes of products takes space. The article states that Nanosys ships their dots in steel kegs, so I imagine shipping >20 kegs would take up a bit of space.

These are things I still have questions about in regards to QMC. Where's their quality control for the dots they are producing? Who's running the quality control? Are they just shipping dots without testing them first? How are they shipping the dots?
