So basically all the incentive for him to build another monster but this time he knows not to sell out too early

According to an interview he gave he did not sell out early. He said he got bored with the company and when he gets bored he has to move on.

I think it's clear from this interview he is not into the money thing.

He got bored. He anticipated a problem before anyone else realized there could be a problem. Built something when everyone said he was crazy and nothing was needed. Very quickly, everyone in the world had his product. Basically, the same thing happening again today...
