I am a sucker for a pump. Adds another level of defense. Do I want to shoot someone who broke into my home, not really but I certainly will without hesitation. I have to think that to an intruder, the only sound that gives them the "Oh shit" moment quicker than a deep dog growl is the sound of a pump. Gives them one more chance to rethink their evening whereas other weapons would not. Add that to the need to be less accurate when firing and that may actually be better for home defense, it's certainly easier to teach my lady how to use
