To the point you make about a "reset" IMO there's going to have to be a global currency reset of some sort because every major currency on the planet is being devalued. Dollars, Euros, Yen, Yuan, etc. all have gone through excessive devaluations, as are all major countries leveraged up to their butts. Debt none of them can ever hope to repay.
Every dog has it's day and I think the dollar's day is about over. When SHTF time comes I'm thinking the Powers that be will most likely want a change in currency leadership and that might be the time they usher in some sort of international monetary system to wipe the slate clean and start over again. This time let's hope they include gold in the mix to control the ultimate fiat money printing that will happen in time. We'll see how it goes.
