PI and Gio,

<<Here we go, the cash dividend again. It is no wonder KB took the money and put it out of reach of bad people and people with hairbrained ideas.

Shareholders' reward? What could you possibly be thinking of? And what standing do you have to be "OK with it?" I think shareholders should be grateful that KB has decided to invest the money in the company, and not himself. And by the way, if he decided to take the cash as a bonus he would be entitled. >>

I will answer you and Gio in the same post.

Gio,

I don't know any company that has done it before. But that it doesn't mean that it shouldn't or couldn't be done. And I wouldn't even know where to look that kind of thing up.

PI,

Your post seems like an overreaction to my suggestion. Shareholders being rewarded for being an investor in a company? What was I thinking? And you are saying that you think we should be grateful that KB didn't take the money for himself as a bonus and you think that should be ok instead of investing in the company? Can't agree with you on that. Seems a bit hyperbolic.

Companies decide to pay a dividend when they have more cash than they have plans for or need for future plans, in many instances. It is a reward for being an investor in a company. That is why I am invested here. For the reward. I don't think that makes me a bad person. And being an investor in a company gives me standing. All I was saying is if the award was large enough, which many here were speculating it would be, and if the company knew what their capital requirements were going to be, along with a safety net and enough for future plans, then they should have considered it. I didn't say they had to or I would sell my shares or anything hyperbolic like that. You don't agree. Thats ok too. Reasonable people can disagree.

You can have the last word on this.
