I think we can now see why Jan is so keen on moving forward quickly here. I suspect he has even bigger plans in his vision, the $5m facility is one indicator of that.
Once they start delivering to the land owner(s) their promises - solar power pumps and wells, infrastructure to enable agriculture, selling initial land, leasing subsequent plots I am hoping more land owners will start asking how they can utilize his capability.
A big risk though is that other bigger companies will start to see the same potential and muscle in either by offering better terms of any partnerships or cash for land etc.
Acquisition of land rights through stealth not shouting via PRs and news articles will be the way to get established and trusted by the locals to deliver the best options for them - food, jobs, accommodation and then tourism via coastal development (marinas, hotels etc) and if possible resorts. In reading your description of the surfer areas I cannot imagine family type beach resorts being welcome there.
I'm on the East coast otherwise would have already taken a trip to look over the land - especially between highway 1 (first plot) and the Pacific coast as that is where I believe our land is
