In business you have to spend money to make money. Nothing is done for free. It is ok for companies to charge for their services and it is ok for companies to also pay for those services. A basic accounting class would teach these principles along with some economics understanding.
It is ok for PMCB to pay for the things they do. It's ok for KW's airfare and hotel to be paid to each of these conferences. It's not illegal, the expenses will be shown in their financials and the SEC will be fine with all of it. Why do costs ever come up? Who cares? None of us do.
The ASCO conference will cost them money too. The good part is the cost for the private conference will never be public so we won't have to hear about it. However that cost, is still ok.
The Marcum Conference is all about funding and partnerships. Money may no longer be an issue in the future anyway. So, the $8K could turn itself into Millions in the future which again makes it more than ok.
