loss, I cannot believe you did not know that. Market makers only need to display market maker bids and asks. That is the idea of having a market maker market. It is also the reason the OTC BB is a pain in the butt. You do not trade directly with other people. Trades go through market makers, and they usually want a cut of the action. It creates a built in spread on every trade. Usually, for a limit buy order to go through, the stock has to trade below the buy price, and for a sell order to go through, the stock has to trade above the sell.
At least you had the guts to post about your mistake. I hope the Ameritrade guy did not laugh.
