I remember all through the 90's, people/friends/family, getting home loans they could not afford. It did not matter to them because they could turn around in a couple of years and do it again, because there homes value would increase many thousands of dollars. They were buying boats, cars, campers, paying off credit cards, getting an even bigger house with an even bigger payment they could not afford. This was all made possible because the GOVERNMENT forced lenders to relax the lending qualifications. This meant that not only people of low income could qualify for a home, but also that the average middle class person could way over extend there financial capabilities. The Community Re-investment Act turned banks into predatory lenders instead of Investors.

I still think we should tell those German and Swedish venders to go F themselves, and start making quality locks here. That's what we used to do when we were great!
