Interesting...

At address do you have the ball centered with the club face? Or do you have it more towards the hosel???

Gonna try that at the range this weekend. I am good sized (athletic physique, a hair under 6 feet, and 200 lbs), but I have never been able to hit a long drive (usually 190-215 yds). I hate seeing guys like me boom it out there 250-270. Hopefully I can pick this up and place myself in birdie range more often! If not, am doomed to the 95-105 range for scores forever. I have been told I have good weight displacement, and a nice tempo'd swing, but I can feel myself using arms more than anything. And you're right. Haven't found the secret on my own yet. Also haven't gone to the super-sized driver head yet (the Volkswagon on a stick type!)

ok I read your 3 swing tips in the board header and will try this at the range. if this messes up my swing do i get a refund? what about if I break my hosel? :) Everyone tells me I am swinging way too fast when they see me shank 3 in a row with the driver, so maybe I need to work on other mechanics and am already unconsciouly doing what you are describing?

My biggest problem is flush contact, lots of toppers off the tee, soemtimes 20% of the bucket if I am trying to crush it, when I hit it right it will carry 270-280 no problem. When I slow down my swing the mishits get even worse since I am not used to slowing it down the driver comes through on a different plane/arc I think.

question do you grip/swing your driver and irons differently? I line up my driver almost at my front foot and usually adjust my grip slightly since it squares up a little more closed than my irons. Irons I line up center and have no problem hitting.

Nice lessons. I've practiced so much with my 9 iron and 7 iron, and 5. It's a 100% shot that I will hit it 10 feet to the pin or closer 100 yards to 180 yards away every time. I avg a 2 putt and drive the ball 250 - 295, sometimes 300 +.

If you want to get good at golf I recommend everyone to go to Stracka.com. I did.
