Apart from the fact they are comparatively much more expensive to buy, have terrible resale value, mostly have poor performance, short range on a charge, long recharge times, insufficient recharge points, about a 5 year battery lifespan, petrol is still affordable and the questionable environmental advantage when the production of the batteries is taken into account.
