Well the washington post article states that its a US company that is owed money. So it definitely seems like it should go to shareholders.

Got to be shareholders. Thats the only real way they could calculate and pay out and only fair way. Just like Office Depot owns all those old shares from a merger of a another co who had those shares. So Office Depot shareholders would get the biggest payout of anyone.
