Problem is that all the deals and partnerships doesn't carry much weight. I mean look at space side of things, nothing all this time. Can ASTI PV be the next choice in satellite space applications? We don't know yet, and how much revenue can ASTI get from one satellite launch?
Drones and electric planes are emerging markets, and yet again it's only emerging and not showing mass productions and sales. The only sure thing right now is Enerplex actually doing well.
Much is still uncertain but with potential. My take is that ASTI will be successful only if they can hang in there long enough to see the future emerging market actually comes around where these solar electric plans and unnamed ones are producing in mass scales.
Silent Falcon for example was said to potentially sell several hundred units per year. Assuming 3k revenue per plane and they sold 700 units in one year, it's 2.1 million revenue. Not much of income with these. Unless other companies starts to deal with ASTI and then you ended up with ASTI supplying PV for several companies. But, I don't see that happening for at least few more years to come in 2020.
Problem is time is not on ASTI side. They stated in their report, continue funding is required or they will be forced to cut spending to the point of impacting production and expansion plans. I just hope by year end, they would sign more deals to help boost revenue. They need to generate 40 million, but only did 6.5 last year. Assuming they triple revenue this year ending at 20 million they are still in trouble. Whether or not they can retain the revenue generated this year and increase it further next year is a question too.
