"There has been little to no sales outside what Hoffman has brought to the table."
Try harder. 80% of AIDO's current revenues is from pet tags, a business that predate Hoffman, and one that they recently claimed will double with the recent alliance.
I was concerned at first when I heard about Hoffman's departure. After further research, however, I'm smiling. There can only be 2 reasons for Hoffman leaving. One, what he was working on failed. Two, what he was working on succeeded and he's moving deeper. What do I mean by this?
The recent articles with quotes from Goodyear prove that AIDO is now in tight with Goodyear until at least 2008, by which time rfid tags will be a standard tire component. This was Hoffman's baby, and the baby is old enough to go to school, so Hoffman's doesn't have to babysit him at home anymore.
Where's Hoffman going? I bet he chases the baby to school. I bet he goes to Goodyear to nurture the baby to graduation - until every tire made by Goodyear at least rolls off the line with an RFID tag cured into its sidewall.
