That's Mediaseek's bar code reader...it involves a 'direct' system as opposed to qode, which is an 'indirect' system. YJ.

When I viewed the barcode scanning in Japan, my first impression was, "Isn't this the same as PaperClick/Qode?"

They are already using this technology in Japan, regardless of NEOM's patents. I wonder what is the outcome of NEOM's patent application in Japan? Are they still pending approval?
How can they be approved in Japan, if someone else is already using the technology in Japan? I just wonder!

Does NEOM's patents include both the "direct" and "indirect" systems? If only "indirect", then can companies just choose to use the "direct" systems and by-pass NEOM?
