#248198 RE: F6 #248193

Bernie says Hillary needs 59% of the pledged delegates in order to win the nomination. That is to avoid a contested convention.

"So what Sanders is in essence now doing is arguing that Hillary no longer needs a majority of the delegates to win the nomination, Hillary now needs a supermajority
of the pledged delegates. Sanders now says that Hillary needs to have 2,383 pledged delegates in order to stop him from contesting the convention. But there are
only 4,051 pledged delegates, so a simple majority of those would be 2,026 — not the 2,383 Sanders now says Hillary needs. 2,383 of 4,051 is 59%."

Hillary (including estimates for the caucus votes) is ahead by about 3.1million votes.

So Hillary is way up on the popular vote count, yet Bernie is saying she needs some 59% of the pledged delegates or else he will contest the convention.

Does anyone Sanders' break with the winner tradition as setting a good precedent?

It certainly makes Bernie look much less gracious than Hillary. I mean when she conceded in 2008 she didn't go for the any unprecedented 59% hurdle.
