EBM versus DMLS (SLM/DMP): While laser systems are adding more lasers and improving melting coverage speed, ARCAM's EBM is still faster at the melting speed of 8,000 mm per second. Besides, ARCAM will huge productivity via Stacking (laser systems can do nesting as well, but not stacking like EBM). For example, EBM Q10 systems can build/melt 108 acetabular cups (for HIP Implant) in a single unattendeed build via 9 rows stacked of each 12 cups which no laser system can do in the sub-US$ 750,000 category.
