Re: OT: the Bristol Bay sockeye salmon run turned out to be a monster run alright with over 40 million reds returning. My 22 year old son in his first year as a skipper called the other day to say he's caught over the 100,000 pounds so far. He's got my boat beat. Not bad for a month's work. Just hope he makes it home safe.
That's incredible. It looks like I'm going to have to scour the supermarket for some low priced Sockeye. It's among my favorite foods out there.
