Cj- I agree that "known infection" if often used as an exclusion criteria. I don't have a problem with the design as stated.

As Godofsky states, a very large proportion of the patients with HCV will be co-infected. I think almost all patients who otherwise meet enrollment criteria will already have been tested for HIV. Of the 24 patients planned to enroll, I don't expect many HIV patients in the study (0-5?). And I don't expect much scientifically re:HIV from this trial.
