Sorry, but I'm confused about a couple things here. A lot of what you say may be true, but who is it that "bought the rights" to VDK 2 from DFMI? I thought, following along, that DFMI management secured debt obligations to its CEO, and then transfered the rights to the CEO under the security agreement on default.
This had the effect of transferring out of DFMI its sole asset of importance, presumably with consent of management and some number of shareholders, but also (as the VDK licence was non transferable), the grantor of the licence (who must have also been a shareholder of DFMI given the terms of the licence).
