When Timothy Pagliara launched his suits against Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac boards in separate complaints, I thought it set the table for a separation of the two GSEs in this endless morass of already-filed litigation. Such a scenario would be hugely beneficial to Freddie Mac shareholders AND hugely beneficial to those academics, politicos and housing industry experts with a shared concern for preserving the 30 year mortgage feature as a continued cornerstone of affordable housing for all, not just the very wealthy.
