Treaty had no real interest in producing oil... It was all fodder for PR's to sell shares. The Mitchel was likely a surprise to them. After they milked that out they traded it off to the driller to cover Treaty's drilling costs rather than face TNC in court.
Trimarica and TECO shares are the same thing so I don't understand what they would have that TECO doesn't have which is nothing anyway.
