You should have just taken my friendly advice to put on a cheap protective call hedge. Would have worked for either D or USO put core positions.

Gave Peas similar advice when his old D position was in the ~$330 and $460 range, IIRC.

I am still of the opinion that people can make money with either bias, but you either have to contain or control your risk.
