The use of Duncan Lake for tailings disposal and the impact on the fish (DFO) caused Kemess North to have to go through the Federal-Provincial joint review process. It was mentioned, prior to the termination of exploration on Sustut, that Sustut would require only Provincial approval and that the permit process in BC had been streamlined and was very efficient.
