I linked this post to the iBox per some requests. I also linked waterwisp and Susies list, as there are many great comedies on there as well. Some may be duplicates from other lists.

If anyone else wants to make their own list, I will link that as well.

Enjoy!

I read all the Fletch books and was a big fan of the series so I was a bit dissapointed in the movie - the books were so good.

Wow! You star off with Funny Farm?? LOL
I saw that in the theatre. Had one funny line. "You aren't knocking him out but you sure are beating the piss out of him"
#3 is terrific. The best of the run of those.
#4. I could only make it a few minutes into. It was tough watching. LOL
#5 was the best dollar show movie I ever saw at the theatre(narrowly beating out Blind Date)
#6 Lane Meyer, average high school student
I will still watch 7.
8 is the best of the Wes Anderson movies which is not a complement. :-)
Didn't understand how 9 was popular. DeNiro isn't funny. LOL
Love 11,12 and 15
#20 should be in your top 3. :-)
The robbery seen in 21 had me in tears. One of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Love 23 & 24. Both for very different reasons. 24 should be in your top 5-10.
26, 27 are both terrific though the Jerk should be much higher.
31, NO! 7 is the key!
I am partial to 33 and love 35
47 should be much, much higher. I thought Dumb & Dumber was the funniest thing I had seen in a long time until I saw Tommy Boy after it. Tommy Boy made it look like King Lear. LOL
All JMHO's. I appreciate that you took the time to put a list together. :-)

Btw, I am proud to say that I have seen 45 movies on the list.
You should have The Holy Grail much higher and include The Life Of Brian(it is the better of the two movies) on your list
