oldoil to do my transfer to Schwab they don't have to sell. In the past when I did a transfer from one firm to another they just did it. TD is going to charge me a fee of $75 but that covers the transfer of all my holdings. I just became dissatisfied with TD. I send a check to make a purchase and it takes them a week to allow the use of funds Schwab it never take more then 2 days and sometimes it is the next day after they show they received it.
