I invested heavily in Apple too, back when they were "doomed." I was looking at the future enabled by the technology and people brought into Apple through their acquisition of NeXT (best understood as NeXT's taking over Apple and being paid to do it).
I regard NNVC's invention of the nanomicelle+ligand technology as a present analog to NeXT's and then Apple's object-oriented technology. Both technologies were (and are) platforms that allow simple and rapid development of many things, in Apple's case, an OS and applications to run on it, and in NNVC's case, drugs efficacious against a wide range of viruses.
