Inmate Accounts
Funds can be deposited to inmate’s accounts through EZ Card and Kiosk Company. EZ Card and Kiosk offers online payments using a debit or credit card, kiosk payments, as well as telephone payments for a nominal processing fee. Funds will be credited to the inmate’s account approximately 30 minutes upon completion of the transaction.

Lobby Kiosks: (24 hours a day) Cash/Credit/Debit card transactions (located in the lobby of both the Intake Release Center and the Theo Lacy Branch Jail)

Fee-free transactions (CASH ONLY DEPOSITS) are available at the lobby kiosks on Mondays between 4 am and 8 am, on Tuesdays between 11 am and 3 pm, and Wednesdays between 5 pm and 9 pm.
Personal checks, Cashier’s checks, and Traveler’s checks are NOT accepted for inmate accounts.
Money can be placed on an inmate’s account at both the Intake Release Center (IRC) or at the Theo Lacy Branch Jail using the lobby kiosk, regardless of where the inmate is housed. These funds are made available for the inmate to use approximately 30 minutes after the transaction is completed.
Possession of monies by an inmate is forbidden.
Deposited funds on inmate accounts may not exceed $500 and may not be transferred from the account of one inmate to the account of another inmate without the express permission of the Watch Commander.
Inmates may have city/county/state/or United States Government checks and money orders deposited to their account. Money orders must be made payable to the “Orange County Sheriff’s Department” and the inmate’s name and booking number must be shown on the reference line of the money order.
Money orders may either be deposited at the Cashier’s office or mailed to the inmate through the U.S. mail. Government checks must be mailed to the inmate. This is for tracking purposes and because the inmates must endorse these checks before they can be deposited.
Bail-Cash
Cash bail may be paid in cash, credit or debit card, bank Cashier’s checks, personal checks, money orders, and Traveler’s checks.

You must verify the full name, booking number, and full bail amount owed with Inmate Records (714) 647-4666, to ensure you are paying the proper amount.
Bail for certain defendants must be paid in cash or check only, no credit cards. To verify the bail amount and what payment methods are acceptable, please call Inmate Records at (714) 647-4666, before attempting to pay.
Bail may also be paid at the Intake Release Center Cashier’s office with bank Cashier’s checks, personal checks, money orders, or Traveler’s checks.
Cashier’s checks for any bail amount will be accepted only when properly verified with the issuing financial institution. Please bring a business card with the bank employee’s name and phone number for verification. Bank Cashier’s checks must be for the exact amount of the payment, must be made payable to the “Orange County Sheriff’s Department” and be drawn on an acceptable financial institution in the United States.
Requires Two Forms of Identification: Personal checks may be used, provided that the pre-printed name and address on the check matches the issuer’s Driver’s License or California ID. These checks must be drawn on a California bank with a California address. Second and third party checks will not be accepted. Personal checks are only accepted up to $7,500 per checking account and must be made payable to the “Orange County Sheriff’s Department.”
Traveler’s checks are acceptable only if signed at the Cashier’s office in the presence of a cashier. Traveler’s checks must be for the exact amount of the payment, must be made payable to the “Orange County Sheriff’s Department” and be drawn on an acceptable financial institution in the United States. Persons presenting Traveler’s checks must furnish satisfactory identification
Company/business checks are NOT accepted.
Bail for all courts outside of Orange County must be paid in cash.
Bail-Bond
Bonds are accepted at the Theo Lacy Facility during the posted Cashier Office hours. Bonds can be accepted at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Intake Release Center (IRC) located at 550 N. Flower St., Santa Ana, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
The Sheriff’s Department can NOT recommend, suggest, or otherwise direct you to any Bail Bond Agent/Company for a bail bond purchase.
A person bringing a bond will be fingerprinted and his/her identity will be verified, unless he/she is a licensed bond agent.
