I apologize if I have offended you, I don't see what the point is in shooting the messenger. I know from our past correspondance that we have virtually identical opinions about Geron (which is what this message board is all about) and stem cells in general. I'm just trying to show you that the cold reality is that the Democrats don't have the political momentum right now to get a 51 vote swing in this year's elections. I was not trying to imply that the Bush Administration hasn't engaged in scandal, I'm saying that in the eyes of the average American voter, they don't perceive the Bush Administration as scandalous, certainly not enough to unseat their House representatives that are typically entrenched by a 10%+ margin of friendly voters. By all means stem cells should be used as a campaign issue, but I am trying to give you the realistic message that federal funding is basically dead until January 2009, barring an electoral miracle in 3 1/2 months. Please don't shoot the messenger over this, I would love to be proven wrong and you would greatly cheer me up if you could provide me a reply telling me where I've gotten my assessment of the electoral landscape wrong.
