I don't see that the options themselves couldn't be worth a substantial amount. Of course it's a harder sell that way, with deadline and all... I'm not a finance man so maybe that stuff is as valuable as dirt to the relevant investors. But so far I haven't heard anyone but RD claim with vehemence that it would not work.
